Our Mission
Do you know the expression, "They don't make them like they used to"? Our mission at Comfort and Joy Home Decor is to create handmade products for your home that are made to last. We want you to be able to enjoy our products for as long as you have them. We want you to be able to pass them down from generation to generation.
All of our products are "made to order". This means that we don't keep an inventory of most of our products. We create them as we receive the order. This results in taking a little bit longer, but it will be worth the wait.
A Few Words About
The Owner
My name is Mary Pennucci. I am the owner of Comfort and Joy Home Decor.
I am a born and bred New Englander, raised in Somerville, Massachusetts, a city just outside Boston. I am an avid sports fan and, of course, my Boston/New England teams are at the top of my list. About 20 years ago, my husband's job took us to Columbus, Ohio. The only difference I have found between Boston and Columbus is a much slower pace (oh, and the traffic is much less bumper to bumper!). Fortunately, I still get my four seasons!!
I always look forward to the changes in season so I can see how stores have been decorated. Fall and Winter have always been my favorites, especially because of the craft fairs and other festivals that occur. The sights and smells of holidays just bring a sense of happiness and home for me. I love going to craft fairs and festivals and checking out what my fellow "Makers" are coming up with for the seasons.
I love to decorate my home. I enjoy changing my home decor as we transition from season to season. During the pandemic in 2020, I was decorating my Christmas tree and thinking how happy it was making me feel even though the world around us seemed to be in a constant state of crisis. I found myself doing everything I could to make my husband and sons feel like everything was "normal". I baked A LOT, decorated the house in a way that would give a "cozy" vibe (lots of blankets, pillows, and candlelight). I realized in doing this that I wanted everyone to feel so comfortable at home that they didn't mind being in lockdown. This is where Comfort and Joy Home Decor was born.
My goal here is to make high quality products that will last for generations. I want to provide you with items that will help create your "happy place" and make your house a home.
