Remember the Past
You know all of those T-Ball shirts that you've been holding onto for sentimental reasons? Let me make them useful! I can take any kind of t-shirt (T-Ball, Basketball, Concert, etc.) and create a beautiful quilt that you can actually use and look at all the time. I can make you a basic quilt which just has straight columns and rows, or a little more elaborate like the one pictured. You provide the shirts and your design choice; I will do the rest.
Remember Your Loved Ones
Share your loved one's memory with your family and friends. I will have you send me an email detailing what you would like (i.e., memory pillow, ornament, quilt). Once I have an idea of what you would like, we will set the price. Next, you will send me the articles of clothing you want me to use. If you desire an even more personal touch, you can email a picture of your loved one, or a picture of you together, and I can add it to your memento. The picture on the left consists of two rectangular pillows made of a loved one's bathrobe and three 14" x 14" pillows made of two of his shirts and his sweatshirt.
Pricing and Time
When it comes to pricing for memory merchandise, prices vary as each order is customized (all items have "starting prices" and then each customization is added to result in a final cost). Once we have discussed what type of item you would like made and your customizations, I will be able to price out a final cost. Below are the steps you should take to start the quoting process.
STEP ONE: Email me at Mary.Pennucci@comfortandjoyhomedecor.com. In your email, let me know what type of memory merchandise you are interested in having me make. Please be sure you leave a telephone number so that we can speak directly or possibly FaceTime.
T-Shirt Quilts have "starting prices" and they are based on 16 t-shirts. This is the cost without any customization/personalization. Once we discuss what you would like, I will price it out to a final cost. Customization/Personalization for the t-shirt quilt is $10/each. This could be a personal label you want put on the back of the quilt; a picture you want included; etc.
I offer four (4) different options for t-shirt quilts:
(1) “Lattice" - starting at $350.00 (based on 16 t-shirts);
(2) “3-D Effect" - starting at $375.00 (based on 16 t-shirts);
(3) “Flow Chart" - starting at $375.00 (based on 16 t-shirts); and
(4) "Diamonds" - starting at $400.00 (based on 16 t-shirts).
When you get in contact with me, I can send you photos of the different styles of quilts.
If you are interested in a t-shirt quilt, please indicate how many t-shirts you will be providing. If you have less than 16 t-shirts, I will adjust the price accordingly and let you know the difference before we proceed. PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN 16 T-SHIRTS, THE STARTING PRICE INCREASES BY $15.00 PER SHIRT.
I am also able to make a traditional quilt (creating traditional quilt blocks) using the fabrics from loved one's shirts, pants, pajamas, etc. The cost for a traditional quilt using loved one's clothing items will be determined on how much clothing you will be providing and the type of quilt block(s) you choose. Those choices will be provided to you upon our consultation. I can also add fabric to the quilt if what you're providing can't make a quilt in the size you desire. Pricing for this type of quilt is purely based on quilt block design, complexity, personalization and my time. I do not have a starting price for this type of quilt.
NEWLY OFFERING. I am now offering three (3) choices for quilt backing.
(1) Cotton Quilt Backing (included in quilt price);
(2) Fleece Quilt Backing (+$35.00 to quilt price); and
(3) "Cuddle" Plush Quilt Backing (+$50.00 to quilt price).
Memory Pillows. If you are interested in a memory pillow, please indicate the size pillow you would like made. Pillow sizes are:
(1) 12" x 12" square - starting at $15.00;
(2) 14" x 14" square - starting at $20.00;
(3) 16" x 16" square - starting at $25.00; and
(4) 18" x 18" square - starting at $30.00.
If you desire a custom size (i.e., rectangular pillow or round pillow), please let me know. If you would like any personalization added to the pillow cover (i.e., picture, trim, beading, etc.), please let me know. Personalization is $3.00/each. If you desire more than one pillow, please let me know.
If there is not enough fabric to complete the back side of the pillow, I will need to purchase fabric to accomplish that task, which will be an additional cost of $10.00. I will notify you immediately if that is the case, but I will make every effort possible to just use what you have provided to me. But, please keep this in mind when choosing your pillow size.
Ornaments. For ornaments, please let me know if you would like a 3-inch round ornament or a 4-inch round ornament. You can provide me with a loved one's shirt, pants, pajamas or whatever clothing item you desire. Please let me know if you would like any personalizations used as part of the ornament (i.e., photo, name, initials). Personalization is $3.00/each. A custom 3-inch round ornament has a starting price of $25.00. A custom 4-inch round ornament has a starting price of $30.00. Also, if you desire more than one ornament, please let me know how many and the sizes. I will offer "bulk" pricing with a minimum of six (6) ornaments.

FOR QUILTS AND PILLOWS: I will direct you to the website and you can select the "Custom Mementos" category located in the Store to see pricing. You can select what you would like on the drop-down menu to see what your quilt will cost (this will not include tax; tax will appear at checkout). Then, you can purchase the chosen quilt or pillow.
Once you have purchased, please send me the items you want utilized in the quilt or pillow as soon as possible (you are responsible for shipping; a service that provides tracking is strongly suggested). I will notify you when I receive them.
FOR ORNAMENTS: You can email me exactly what you would like for the ornament. Pricing is located above. I will have you go to the website and select the "Custom Mementos" category located in the Store. You can purchase the ornament you desire. Once you have made your purchase, please send me your fabrics as soon as possible (you are responsible for shipping; a service that provides tracking is strongly suggested). I will notify you when I receive them.
VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE: I need the proper amount of time to make your memento. The turnaround time is different than the turnaround time for items located in my Store. Customized mementos need much more time, especially if you have a specific deadline. If you are thinking of ordering, please contact me as soon as you possibly can. We can discuss what my timetable looks like and figure out a way I can get your gift finished by your deadline.
Please keep in mind, I am also working on items that are being ordered from my store, as well as preparing items to sell at shows. I work alone, so plenty of lead time is very important. For quilts, I need at least 4-6 weeks to get your quilt completed. For pillows and ornaments, I need at least 2 weeks to get your pillow or ornament completed.
THE ULTIMATE GOAL IS FOR YOU TO BE ABLE TO HAVE A SPECIAL MEMENTO OF YOUR LOVED ONE THAT YOU CAN ENJOY FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.
